On April 25th, from 1:00-1:45 pm EST, I will join the Montessori Family Life Webinar Series to discuss how families can support their child’s physical activity as they move through the planes of development. The Montessori Foundation and the Montessori Family Alliance produce this webinar series. I’m pleased to work with them again after a successful debut article on sportsmanship, which you can read here. My conversation is part of a three-part webinar series in April, so check out the other features as well. The title of my featurette is Physical Wellness: Part 3 - The Activities We Do with Nick Lepine.
Here is the description for our webinar conversation:
"Parents, caregivers and guardians who are interested in how physical activity at home and at school affects children's overall health and ability to learn won't want to miss this webinar with Nicolas Lepine. Everyone agrees physical activity is one of the cornerstones of health, but it can be difficult to implement within a family dynamic. In this webinar, we will discuss how we can follow the child to promote lifelong physical activity and wellness. Join us for this informative broadcast."
Here are some of the topics we are going to discuss during the presentation:
The benefits of physical activity
How to use the Planes of Development to guide our child through physical activity
Sports and exercise choices
Generalization vs. specialization within physical activity
Parents as role models
Physical activity as a family
The platform used for the broadcast is gotowebinar, which will need to be downloaded and updated for attendance. The webinars are recorded and posted to the Montessori Family Alliance website for members to reference. I hope you will be able to join us live for the conversation about physical activity and the family!
