Types of Clouds
Types of Clouds
When you look up at the sky, do you ever imagine shapes or objects in the clouds? Maybe you've spotted a cloud resembling a giant fluffy elephant or a dragon. It's fun to let your imagination run wild with all the possibilities. Many kids, and even adults, love to look at clouds and see what shapes they can make out of them—it's like nature's very own picture gallery in the sky.
However, we know there are many different types of clouds, such as cumulus, stratus, and cirrus, and how they look as they float above us. We also know that we see different types of clouds at different altitudes. Combining these cloud themes with basketball or soccer gives us our Types of Clouds PE lesson!
Materials:
A gym or sizeable outdoor play space
Basketballs or soccer balls (one per student)
Lots of hula-hoops
Prior Knowledge: This lesson could introduce types of clouds or serve as a capstone to a successful lesson on types of clouds in the classroom.
