This game combines a scavenger hunt and a relay race involving planets within the solar system. The students will run back and forth, collecting cards of the planets and the Sun. Once they have the whole solar system, they put them in order. This game will help reinforce the names of the planets, as well as their order. Depending on the class size, you will want to have at least 90 cards (ten cards per planet and ten cards for the Sun), but more is better.

Materials: 

·      An ample open space (such as a gym or field)

·      Solar system card set that includes the Sun (at least 90 cards)

·      Cones or a jump rope to create a starting line

Minimum Amount of Students Needed: This lesson is versatile. It can be done with only one person or many people simultaneously.
